Whitney Louder's Adventure in Disneyland!
Ever since Whitney was a little girl, she told her dad and me, that she was going to be a Disneyland Character! Whatever Whitney set her heart out to do or be, she put everything she had in to her goal and went for the moon!
Well, Last Labor Day weekend, Whitney and her mom were in Disneyland. Whitney found out what it would take to become a character! She went on-line, filled out her application and went for it! Within a couple of weeks they called her for a phone interview. Once she passed the initial phone interview the next step was Auditions!
This didn't scare Whitney at all as she had been performing for a couple of years in Junior Choir and Madrigals at Taylorsville High school.
With High Hopes! Whitney auditioned on Halloween 2008 for Disneyland, down in Orem, Utah. She performed, danced, ad-libed her heart out for 6 gruelling hours! The team explained to each auditioner that they should know their decision within 3 weeks. We all waited with great anticipation!
Whitney never believed that she would NOT get her position as a Disney Character! The email came! Two days before Thanksgiving ~ Out of 1500 applicants, there were only 300 chosen to Audition. Out of the 300 chosen ONLY 5 would become the cherished Disney Character!
Whitney is one of the 5!!! YEAH!! and so her journey begin............
